Animal Success Stories
We just wanted to thank you again for allowing us to bring Leo home. He is such a great dog and we all love him very much. He is a great fit for our family and has adjusted very well. Thanks again!! Happy Holidays Georgie was saved from a shelter in North Carolina. He was brought to the shelter when he was 5 months old for whatever reason and waited and waited for someone to save him. We finally pulled Georgie when he was 6 months old after the shelter told us his time was almost up. Georgie was pulled into our foster care program in Maryland. Right away he expressed great love and affection. You could see in his eyes just how grateful he was to be given a second chance at life. We see the before pictures of these dogs as they come from the shelter into foster care and sometimes the adoptive family is nice enough to follow up with "after" pictures as well. Below are a few after pictures of Romeo, a Blue Austrailian Shepherd. And what a beautiful dog he is.... We have been in rescue for many years but this is by far our favorite before and after photos..... A picture can really say a million words. This is why we devote our lives to these dogs...to see sucesses like this. This girl was dropped off at our most high kill shelter with two days for adoption - with her liter of puppies. Poor girl didn't stand a chance - until this young lady came along and decided to believe in her.
Boris was a little bug that came though and EVERYONE loved him..... Look at that face, how could you not love that little one. Shamus was one of those dogs who you knew would be grateful to anyone that gave him a chance. His new mother soon discovered this also. She also discovered that he loves the snow as much as she does.... Now thats a happy dog. This little girl was a stray that found her way to us.... She was adopted just before Christmas to a wonderful couple in Ocean City, MD and we are sure her first Christmas was one she will never forget because she got the best gift of all.... The gift of family. She got an answer to the question all of our dogs are dying to ask......"Am I adopted"? Hector has had a rocky past. He lost all but one member of his family to a fire where he also lost his leg. He was our first three legged friend. He had to have his leg removed from extensive burns. His mother dropped him off at the shelter because she could not care for him during that time. A little bit later, she picked him back up and had him for a matter of time before she lost her job, car, and home......so Hector was once again returned to the shelter. We then agreed to take him into our rescue. Hector has been such a blessing to us. You couldn't ask for a better dog. He is just happy to be in the same room with someone. He just wants the simple things......to be loved. Hector was adopted on 12/29 and his family now can offer him this simple request. This picture shows how much he loves his new home.
![]() ![]() Some may agree in saying that everything happens for a reason. We ended up with a dog named Tuk for just that reason. We here at Paws of Tomorrow, Inc. sponsored Tuk to offer him a chance. He came to us with injuries that were far more extensive than anyone could have thought. Our first thought when looking at Tuk was………Boy, we are going to have our hands full. We took him to the vet and they explained that he needed immediate surgery. After hearing the amount of pain that dog was in and had been for so long, we were amazed at how great he had been. At that time we promised him we would not abandon him. We assure him we would come back for him and that we were going to help him. They did the surgery and told us he could come home. We pick him up and he was just a bundle of joy. So happy and so appreciative. Right now at his foster home, Tuk has his own room, where he can get away from things. This gives him space to get comfortable, feel safe, and heal appropriately. He loves attention, and would lay for hours letting you rub his chest. He is kind of jumpy and skittish, most likely from abuse. But he has his safe spot, in the kennel. He makes sure you know how much he appreciates everything you do. He loves his new toy and cuddles up to it when he is afraid. No matter how much food he is given, he saves half of it….just in case he doesn’t get fed tomorrow. He hasn’t had a single accident in the house and is a perfect gentleman on a lease. He is trying so hard to be trusting but when he gets spooked he just runs in his kennel to hide until he is comfortable again. Although, he has NO food aggression at all. You can take the food right out of his mouth and he just gives you those sweet puppy eyes asking ”please”. Of all of the rescued dogs I have ever been around, he is by far, the most appreciative and grateful. He has won our heart over in a matter of days. He makes you realize how rewarding it can be to help an abandoned animal. It really is true, that no dog will ever love you like an abandon dog. When you look in their eyes and see the joy you have brought to them by simply offering a little love. The way they hold on to blankets or toys they are given, like they are the greatest treasure they could receive. They just want to feel safe!!! Limpy is so grateful for this opportunity that we will forever hold him dear. ![]() ![]() ![]()
