Paws of Tomorrow is not a shelter.  We are an animal rescue that works with shelters to help save urgent dogs on death row and local abandoned dogs.  All of the dogs on our site are in foster care.  Paws of Tomorrow DOES adopt out of state, but you must be willing to travel to us to meet and pick up your new pet.  We do not allow our dogs to be transported to an adopter.

In order to adopt one of our dogs, an adoption application is required.    Our applications are located on the applications page of the website. You will not be considered until an application is received by us. We also require an applciation fee of $30 when submitting an application.  This fee is to insure that you are serious about adopting one of our pets.  We are all volunteers and spend a lot of hours working on these applications, we just want to know you are serious when submitting an application.  This fee is non-refundable and becomes a donation if you cancel for any reason.  If you are interested in visiting one of our pets, we can arrange that after reviewing your application.  All of our pets are in foster care and we want to know a little about you before having our volunteer meet with you.  Final approval may take a little over a week.

Once we receive your application, we will contact your vet reference and arrange a phone interview with you.  If approved, you will need to send the specified adoption funds for this dog via PayPal.  Our adoption fee is $300 for all adoptable dogs on our site.  These fees are non-negotiable.  This is an "Adoption Fee" and is solely for the adoption of this animal.  We try to fully vet each dog but this is not guaranteed by paying the adoption fee.  Paws of Tomorrow cannot guarantee the temperament or health of any animals made available for adoption. We will never knowingly place a sick animal in a home.  You are responsible for the supplies needed for your new pet.  You will need to have a crate, food, toys, and other pet needs available for your new pet.  We want to assure the adoption process is a smooth, happy transition.

You must understand that when adopting a rescue dog, that they may have health issues.  These dogs come from deplorable conditions.  You acknowledge and accept the responsibility of caring for them by signing our contract and accepting adoption.  We insure that every dog is up to date on shots, given flea treatment, de-wormed twice, spay/neutered, and given an overall health evaluation but they could have underlying health issues that we are unaware of.  If the dog is in foster care for some time, they may receive additional vetting but some dogs move through our organization very quickly.  We do our best to insure good health of each animal that leaves our rescue but sometimes problems do not present themselves for some time.  So please understand that we cannot offer a health guarantee.

ALL of our pets are spay/neutered.  Please know that this is the reason these dogs end up in a shelter in the beginning and we will not allow this to continue in this area.  All dogs must be spay/neutered in the home for us to approve an adoption.  If you do not agree to any of the above please do not adopt from our organization.  We are trying to stop dogs from being euthanized in the United States and cannot do this unless every dog is S/N that leaves the shelters.  Just remember, "If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem."  Only puppies under 6 months old may require you to have them spay/neutered after adoption, in this case you will be given a certificate that you will return to us as proof of this being done, and we will refund $75 of the adoption fee. You are required to have them spay/neutered and provide proof.

Paws of Tomorrow can provide transport of our animals to their forever home.  We will adopt our loving pets to any area in the US.  Please be aware that transport does require an extra charge.  Please contact us for details.

Adopting is a huge responsibility and we need to know this will be a lifelong commitment to the animal. Paws of Tomorrow, Inc. will only consider adoption to FOREVER homes.  It is also mandatory that if for any reason you cannot keep the dog at anytime, the dog must be returned TO US.  If we find that you have not honored this, legal charges will be filed.  The application/contract you sign explains all of this also. We do not tolerate any of our dogs going back to a shelter. We do not rescue them from high kill shelters for them to end up back where they started. We take this oath seriously and expect all our adopters to do the same. Adopting should be a lifelong commitment and rewarding experience!

Also, please remember that the fosters and volunteers of this rescue have been a big part of this animals life.  We would love to have updates from you as the dogs settles in.  It really does mean the world to all of us.
